SPRING BREAK WEIGHT ROOM

KETTLEBELL BENCH:
would not do this with most high school kids, the kid on the video is our top bencher - not seen on film the other guy it did not work out so well (used 44lb kettlebells)
BAND PUSH UPS AND LYING PULL UPS:
Got from DeFrancos Extreme video, great video
Like to use these as 3rd part of progression
1 - regular push ups
2 - blast strap push ups
3 - band push ups

1 - lying bar pull ups
2 - blast strap pull ups
3 - rope pull ups
4 - band pull ups

PLANK ROTATIONS:
could probably just as easily use band without the rope, we also progress on these
1 - regular plank
2- plank hip ups
3 - plank rotations
4 - plank rotation with resistance

IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME

Now that it is Spring Break, football is over, powerlifting is over and we are in the middle of track and field - I found some time over spring break to update my Blog.

Below are some thoughts and items I will hopefully be updating the blog with

I am working on some type of drop box or google document - where I can start to put all 5-3-1 and other strength and conditioning documents to have accesible to coaches that are trying to get their athletes as strong, powerful and fast as possible

Next weekend I am looking forward to going to the John Godina coaching clinic in Houston. I will update and give notes from following.

We are implementing a new mental excellence program with our football team. Pooled together many resources - one of the main one's being Dr. Rick McGuire from Missouri and his book and recent video "From Whistle to Snap"
